    WELCOME

Welcome to the First United Methodist Church of Bonham!

    WELCOME

Welcome to the First United Methodist Church of Bonham!

We start our Sundays with Breakfast at the Heights at 8:00 to 9:00 in the Family Life Center with hot breakfast and a chance to be nourished by the Word with a short message. Sunday School runs from 9:30 to 10:30 and we have a class for all ages. Worship begins at 10:30 in the Sanctuary and I invite you to discover a place of community -- a church family whose mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

The First United Methodist Church of Bonham began in 1844, and was the first church in Bonham after it became the county seat of Fannin County in 1843. We have a long and rich heritage in this county and our community. In 1987 we began a community preschool program. In 1994 The Clarence White Family Life Center was completed. The Life Center offers a place of fellowship and community-building.

Last year we worked on creating “A New Comfort Zone in God’s Kingdom” with a capital project to replace our heating and air-conditioning system and to update our sanctuary. We also began our Breakfast at the Heights ministry which provides glimpses of God’s kingdom in a little more relaxed comfort zone. You are invited to check out our new look, and our new options to get “comfortable” in God’s kingdom.

We are always working on stretching our comfort zone for the work of God’s Kingdom. We sponsor Upward Basketball, Boy Scout Troop 260, and Kool After School-- programs that benefit the children and families of Bonham. We offer a community-wide Ladies Bible Study, “High Noon” Bible Study and many other ministries and outreach programs.

We are a church family eager to invite you to experience the love of God demonstrated in our worship, missions, and ministries.

May God's blessings rest upon you!
